We prepare for RCM Theory Exams from Level 5 through Level 8, History and Harmony courses for Level 9 through the ARCT.
What to expect every week
The Building Blocks of Musical Mastery
Each week, your child works through the exact concepts RCM examiners test for Levels 5 through 8 — taught online live, in a small group, by an instructor with a PhD in Theory and Composition. Every class builds directly on the last, so nothing is learned in isolation.
- Pitch, Notation & Transposition: Your child learns to read and write music fluently — recognizing pitches instantly and transposing pieces into any key.
- Rhythm & Meter: Through guided practice, your child masters time signatures and rhythmic patterns until they're second nature.
- Scales & Key Signatures: Every major and minor scale, and every key signature, becomes something your child can identify and build on sight.
- Intervals, Chords & Harmony: Your child learns to hear and construct the intervals and chords that give music its structure — the real foundation of harmonic understanding.
- Melody Writing, Form & Analysis: Rather than just reading melodies, your child learns to compose and analyze them — understanding why a piece is built the way it is.
- Music History & Terms: Your child connects theory to context, learning the composers, eras, and musical language RCM examiners expect them to know.
